Aaron Rodgers is Changing His Diet to Be More Like Tom Brady
For years, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers famously abided by the 80/20 rule: 80 percent of his diet was dedicated to eating healthy, and 20% allowed him to indulge in junk food every now and then. Though Rodgers cut back on things like pizza, he made multiple coffee shop runs and his pregame meals featured, in his words, “steaks and sauces and starches”—and he still allowed himself to chow down on In-N-Out Burgers and Girl Scout cookies once or twice a week.
No more.

Rodgers is done with the 80/20 rule once and for all, spurred on by advice from the Packers’ director of performance nutrition, Adam Korzun. Rodgers wants to play in the NFL six to eight more years, and to do so, he had to scrap the 80/20 nutrition plan. It just wasn’t good enough for his body any more.
“I think it is all about finding ways to challenge yourself,” Rodgers told ESPN at the Packers’ OTA’s this week. “And one area I’ve really focused on is working with Adam on my nutrition, and really thinking hard about that.”
Another source of motivation for Rodgers’ diet change came from an unlikely place: a fellow quarterback. Rodgers is competitive as hell, but the California native has maintained a friendly relationship with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and he was influenced by Brady’s strict commitment to eating healthy.

“To be honest, Tom Brady is an influencer there because of the stuff he talks about, and how healthy he is,” Rodgers said.
We could begin to witness a competition to see which health-conscious quarterback lasts the longest in the NFL. Our money is still on Brady.
